RDNA 2 · 2022
Radeon 680M was AMD's flagship integrated GPU in the Rembrandt generation of Ryzen chips, built on RDNA 2 with 768 compute units and a 2.2 GHz boost clock - specs that made it, at the time, the fastest integrated graphics available in a laptop. It showed up mainly in higher-end Ryzen 6000-series laptops.
It's capable of real 1080p gaming at low-to-medium settings in many titles and handles esports games well, offering a genuine (if power-dependent) alternative to a low-end discrete GPU. It has since been succeeded by AMD's RDNA 3 and RDNA 3.5 integrated graphics, which push performance further still.
As AMD's flagship RDNA 2 integrated GPU, it has genuine hardware ray accelerators and supports FSR 3.1's temporal upscaling plus Frame Generation - a real jump from FSR 2's upscaling-only approach on earlier integrated chips. Ray tracing itself is still a stretch at this performance level, but FSR's extra frames can meaningfully help in the esports and lighter titles it's already capable of running.
