RDNA 3.5 · 2024
The Radeon 890M is currently AMD's flagship integrated GPU, built on the newer RDNA 3.5 architecture in Strix Point-generation Ryzen AI chips, with 1024 compute units boosting to 2.9 GHz - roughly double the compute resources of the previous-generation 780M. It pushes what's possible without a dedicated graphics card further than almost any integrated GPU before it.
It's capable of comfortable 1080p gaming at medium settings in most current titles and handles esports games with room to spare, making a discrete GPU genuinely optional for buyers who don't need top-tier gaming performance. As with any integrated GPU, fast system memory makes a real difference to how it performs.
As AMD's current flagship integrated GPU, the 890M carries hardware ray accelerators and full FSR 3.1 support - temporal upscaling plus AMD's software-driven Frame Generation - and with roughly double the compute resources of the 780M, it's one of the few integrated GPUs where that extra Frame Generation boost is genuinely worth using in supported games.
