RDNA · 2019
On the desktop side, the RX 5700 used the same RDNA core count as its mobile RX 5700M sibling but ran it at higher, unconstrained clocks - up to 1625 MHz - with a 256-bit bus delivering 448GB/s of bandwidth, noticeably more headroom than the laptop part. It launched in 2019 as AMD's answer to NVIDIA's RTX 2060 and GTX 1070-class cards.
At 180W it's a mainstream desktop card requiring a proper PCIe power connector and case airflow - not something found in any laptop. It is well suited to 1080p gaming at maximum settings and 1440p at high settings in most games, without ray tracing support since this predates AMD's RDNA 2 generation.
Comfortable 1080p gaming and everyday creative tasks.
