RDNA 2 · 2020
Sitting at the top of AMD's first RDNA 2 lineup, the RX 6900 XT adds yet more stream processors - 5120 in total - over the RX 6800 XT while keeping the same 256-bit, 512GB/s memory subsystem and 16GB of GDDR6. It launched in 2020 as AMD's flagship answer to NVIDIA's RTX 3090, at a considerably lower price.
Power draw stays at 300W, so it needs the same robust desktop power delivery and cooling as the RX 6800 XT - there is no mobile version of this tier. Expect excellent 4K gaming performance at high settings in most games, with ray tracing available but, as with the rest of the RDNA 2 lineup, trailing NVIDIA's equivalent cards when it is heavily used.
Strong 1440p/4K gaming and demanding creative workloads.
16 GB GDDR6 memory.
Push performance beyond base clock.
PCIe 4.0 x16
Power-hungry flagship desktop card - plan cooling and PSU headroom.
The AMD RX 6900 XT is a high-end dedicated GPU with 16GB of GDDR6 memory, suited to demanding gaming and content creation workloads.
