Xe-LP (Alder Lake) · 2021
Intel's UHD Graphics for 12th Gen mobile chips is the baseline graphics option bundled into budget and mainstream Alder Lake laptops - 32 execution units built on the Xe-LP architecture, clocked up to 1.45 GHz. There's no dedicated memory; it borrows from the system's RAM, which keeps cost and power draw low but caps what it can do.
This is a graphics chip for browsing, video playback, office work and light photo editing, not gaming - even older esports titles need settings turned well down. If gaming matters at all, look for a laptop with Iris Xe graphics or a discrete GPU instead; this UHD variant is strictly the fallback tier.
Being a Xe-LP chip from before Intel's XMX hardware existed, UHD Graphics here can only run XeSS in its DP4a software fallback mode, and even that is a stretch given how cut-down this configuration already is next to Iris Xe. There's no ray tracing hardware either - that's reserved for Intel's later Xe-LPG and Arc-branded integrated graphics.
