Turing · 2018
A tier above the mobile RTX 2060, the laptop RTX 2070 pairs 2304 Turing cores with 8GB of GDDR6 over a 256-bit bus, giving it enough headroom for high settings at 1080p and light 1440p gaming depending on the title.
Its 115W typical configuration sits within a wider range NVIDIA permits laptop makers to set, so - as with other Turing mobile GPUs - two laptops badged "RTX 2070" can perform quite differently depending on how much power and cooling each one actually gives the chip.
Like other Turing laptop GPUs, the RTX 2070 supports DLSS 2 - general-purpose AI upscaling plus DLAA and Ray Reconstruction - but not the Frame Generation that debuted two generations later on RTX 40-series cards. NVIDIA also never extended official Resizable BAR support to Turing-based laptops, unlike the Ampere generation that followed it.
Laptop manufacturers configure this GPU's power limit (TGP) per model. The 115W figure above is a typical point within the chip's published TGP range - actual power limits, and real-world performance, can vary significantly between laptops using the same GPU name.
Comfortable 1080p gaming and everyday creative tasks.
8 GB GDDR6 memory.
Push performance beyond base clock.
Soldered (Mobile)
Real-world specs can differ by laptop model - see the note above.
The NVIDIA RTX 2070 is a mid-range dedicated GPU with 8GB of GDDR6 memory, suited to mainstream gaming and everyday graphics tasks.
