Ampere · 2022
The mobile RTX 3080 Ti became the flagship chip for 2022 Ampere gaming laptops, with 7,424 CUDA cores and a generous 16GB of GDDR6 on a 256-bit bus (448GB/s of bandwidth) - more VRAM than its desktop counterpart gets, which helps with demanding textures and some creative workloads on the go. It's comfortably a 1440p-ultra, even 4K-capable chip in the right chassis.
Like other mobile RTX chips, its power limit is laptop-specific - the 175W shown here is a typical configuration, and a particular laptop could run noticeably lower or higher depending on its cooling design. Two laptops both listing an "RTX 3080 Ti" won't necessarily perform the same.
DLSS 2 is the tier here - Super Resolution, DLAA, and Ray Reconstruction, without Frame Generation, which wouldn't show up until the RTX 40-series. Resizable BAR support is included too, letting the CPU access all 16GB of VRAM in one go instead of smaller windows - useful given how much memory this card actually has.
Laptop manufacturers configure this GPU's power limit (TGP) per model. The 175W figure above is a typical point within the chip's published TGP range - actual power limits, and real-world performance, can vary significantly between laptops using the same GPU name.
Smooth 1440p gaming and solid creative app performance.
16 GB GDDR6 memory.
Push performance beyond base clock.
Soldered (Mobile)
Real-world specs can differ by laptop model - see the note above.
The NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti is a upper mid-range dedicated GPU with 16GB of GDDR6 memory, suited to mainstream gaming and everyday graphics tasks.
