NVIDIA RTX 4090

Ada Lovelace · 2022

16384 Cores 24 GB VRAM Up to 2520 MHz Desktop

The RTX 4090 is the flagship of NVIDIA's 2022 Ada Lovelace generation and, for now, the largest consumer GPU NVIDIA has shipped: 16,384 CUDA cores, 24GB of GDDR6X, and a 384-bit bus delivering 1,008GB/s of bandwidth. It's comfortably the fastest gaming card of its era, handling native 4K ultra settings and even pushing into high-refresh territory with DLSS 3 enabled.

That performance comes with a 450W TDP, so it needs a large case, strong airflow, and a high-capacity power supply - this chip has no laptop equivalent at this core count. It's overkill for 1080p or 1440p gaming, but for 4K, high-refresh gaming, or heavy content-creation and rendering work, it's close to the ceiling of what a single desktop GPU can do.
