AMD Athlon 300 Series · Zen+
The Athlon 300U is AMD's bare-bones option for laptops that need to hit a low price point above all else. Two Zen+ cores with SMT get you to four threads on paper, but real-world performance is closer to what you'd expect from a dual-core chip — fine for browsing and documents, not much else.
It's built on the 12nm "Picasso" die with a small Vega 3 graphics block attached, running at a 15W envelope that keeps thin, fanless designs viable. Clocks top out at 3.1GHz boost, which is enough to feel responsive in short bursts but not under sustained load.
Up to 3.3 GHz boost clock.
Supported memory generations. Soldered (LPDDR) or upgradeable depends on the laptop.
