AMD Athlon 7000 Series · Zen 2 (Mendocino)
Newer than it looks on paper. The 7220U moves to AMD's "Mendocino" platform — a 6nm Zen 2 design with RDNA 2 graphics — which is a real architectural jump over the older Picasso and Raven Ridge chips still floating around in AMD's budget lineup.
Core count stays at two with SMT, so it's not going to out-multitask a Ryzen chip, but the newer graphics engine handles video playback and everyday display work more efficiently than the Vega-based Athlons that came before it.
Up to 3.7 GHz boost clock.
Supported memory generations. Soldered (LPDDR) or upgradeable depends on the laptop.
