AMD Ryzen 5000 Series · Zen 3 (Cezanne)
The Ryzen 9 5900HX is an eight-core, sixteen-thread processor from AMD's Ryzen 5000 "Cezanne" generation, launched in January 2021. It is the unlocked HX variant of the Ryzen 9 5900H-class chips, so laptop makers and users can overclock it, and it runs from 3.3 GHz up to 4.6 GHz at a 45 W default TDP that can be configured between 35 and 54 W.
It uses Zen 3 cores built on a 7 nm process with 16 MB of L3 cache and Radeon Vega 8 graphics, and supports DDR4-3200 or LPDDR4X-4266 memory over PCIe 3.0. It is aimed at gaming and content-creation laptops that have the cooling to take advantage of the higher power limit.
