Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

SpecRaptor ("we", "us", "our") operates specraptor.com and its related tools, including the Laptop Finder, processor database, and the BenchWire desktop application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

Information collected automatically:

Information from BenchWire:

If you install and run our BenchWire benchmarking application, it sends us hardware information from your device — such as CPU model, RAM, storage, GPU, and operating system — along with a randomly generated device identifier and, if you choose to run a benchmark, your test results. This data is not tied to your name, email, or any other personal account information. It is used to power the results page BenchWire opens after a test, and may be used in aggregate to improve our processor and laptop database.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Cookies

We use cookies for essential site functionality (such as keeping an administrator signed in) and Google Analytics cookies to measure site traffic. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some site features may not work correctly without them.

4. Third-Party Services

SpecRaptor links out to third-party retailers (such as Amazon and Flipkart) for purchasing options. Some of these are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you — see our Terms and Conditions for details. We also use third-party services such as Google Analytics, Google Fonts, and content delivery networks for site functionality; these providers may process limited technical data (like IP address) under their own privacy policies.

5. Data Retention

We retain comments, correction reports, and contact messages for as long as needed to operate the site or respond to your inquiry. BenchWire submissions are retained to keep our database accurate and are not linked to identifying personal information.

6. Your Choices

You may contact us at any time to ask what information we hold about a message or comment you've submitted, or to request its removal. Since BenchWire submissions aren't tied to personal identifiers, we may not always be able to locate a specific submission on request.

7. Children's Privacy

SpecRaptor is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
